Convert from MR015 to MR020 and Vice Versa

This Kyosho web page describes the conversion process. This page adds some helpful information to it.

Picture shows the bare minmum parts needed to convert between MR015 and MR020. Basically, only 4 parts separate a MR020 from a MR015! There are several ways to obtain those parts. Going by the Kyosho guide, you will end up with excess parts. If you purchase carefully, you can upgraded parts at the same time for about the same price. Here is how:

MR-015 to-->MR-020

Chassis MZ201 Main chassis set $10.00 or MZF203GM (Gold Contact) $23.00 or MZF201C(followed by P,G,blank or B for different color)$17.00

Servo Housing MZ202 Chassis small article set $7.00 (Note that if you get the upgraded MZF203GM chassis with gold contact or the custom MZF201C* clear chassis, you ALMOST don't need the small article set. I say almost because the terminal nuts are different and are not included in the chassis set. However, that is no big deal. You can use either the MR015 terminal nut, or for better performance, use a wheel nut. See tips section)

Tie Rod MZ203B Front suspension part set $7.00 The only part need here is the tie-rod. MR020 front suspension is wider. The rest of the part in it like knuckle, suspension limiter, kingpin, wheel nut and kingpin retainer, are wasted. For less cost, you can get an upgraded aluminum tie-rod like the PNracing one for less at $6.90. Or get the MZW204 tie-rod with several angles for $7.00.

MR-020 to-->MR-015

Chassis MZ151 Main chassis set (MR-015) $10.00 or MZF152GM (Gold Contact) $23.00 or MZF151C(followed by P,G,blank or B for different color)$17.00

Servo Housing MZ152 Chassis small article set (MR-015) $8.20 (Note that if you get the MZF152GM chassis with gold contact or the MZF151C* clear chassis, you ALMOST don't need the small article set. I say almost because the terminal nuts are different and is not included in the chassis set. The MR020 terminal nuts might be able to be used on the MR015, but haven't tried it yet. Not sure either if the wheel nuts can be used on the M015 chassis.)

Tie Rod MZ153 Tie rod & damper stay set $5.00or upgrade to MZW50 $8.00 for several toe in-out angles.
